What happens when Premium ends

Nothing is deleted. You keep one editable resume, and the rest become locked previews you can't open until you upgrade again.

The short answer, because it's the thing people worry about: nothing is deleted.

Whether you canceled, a pass ran out, or a payment failed, your work is still here.

What happens

You keep one editable resume. If you have more than one, you'll be asked to pick which stays editable.

The rest become locked previews. They stay on your dashboard as locked cards. Nothing about them is deleted, but you can't open, edit, or download them while they're frozen. Upgrade again, or pick that resume as your editable one, and it comes back exactly as you wrote it.

Locked resumes never count against your allowance. However many you have parked, you can still create a new editable resume today.

Premium features switch off — AI review's full results, cover letters, Interview Prep, your public page, Premium templates for new resumes, and photos.

Your existing resume keeps its design. If it's on a Premium template, it stays on that template. We don't restyle your document.

The pick-one prompt

It appears once, at the moment your plan actually ends, and only if you have more than one resume. It won't come back at you afterward, and it won't reappear if you later delete a resume.

Choose the one you're most likely to need next. It isn't permanent — upgrade again and it all comes back.

What stays untouched

  • Every resume's content, in full.
  • Cover letters, target jobs, and interview sessions.
  • Any PDF you already downloaded. Those are files on your computer and they work forever.
  • Your account, your email, your data.

Upgrading again

Everything switches back on immediately. No restore step, nothing to re-import, nothing lost in between.

If you want a copy first

  • Download the PDFs of anything you care about while you still have Premium. Worth doing regardless.
  • Export all of your data from Settings — that's available on any plan and includes your resume content as JSON.

If a payment failed rather than you canceling

Same outcome, and it's fixable. Update your card in Plan & billing in Settings. See update your payment method.
