Terms of Service
Last updated June 23, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between ResumeLove LLC ("Company," "we," "us") and the person using ResumeLove ("you," "User"). They govern your use of the ResumeLove website and app at https://resumelove.com (the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
ResumeLove is a web-based resume builder operated by ResumeLove LLC, a US-based company. We help you build, edit, and improve your resume; draft cover letters; prepare for interviews; optionally publish your resume as a public web page; and pay for premium features. Our registered address is 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
- Acceptance. By creating an account, clicking to agree, or using any part of the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of someone else or an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for them.
- Minimum age (a representation, not a gate). You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. We do not ask for your date of birth at signup. By using the Service, you represent that you are 13 or older.
- Under-18 users. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's permission, and they accept these Terms on your behalf.
- Children under 13. The Service is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we delete it on discovery. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, please tell us using our contact form at /contact.
(EU/UK consent-age rules of 13–16 are handled at EU launch.)
3. What the Service does
The Service lets you:
- Build and edit your resume, including your work and education history, contact details, and an optional photo.
- Use AI Features — the AI scoring, feedback, and generation features — to score, give feedback on, and help draft Resume Content. AI Features run on OpenAI and Anthropic.
- Draft cover letters that are tied 1:1 to a resume, and prepare for interviews using interview-prep inputs.
- Publish a Public Page — a User-published public web page of your resume — when you choose to, and unpublish it at any time.
- Pay for premium offerings — a one-time Pass or a recurring Subscription — processed through Stripe.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We will not make changes that materially reduce the core Service you paid for without letting you know.
4. Your account
- Account responsibility. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Don't share your login. Tell us promptly using our contact form at /contact if you think your account has been used without your permission.
- Accurate information. Give us accurate account information and keep it up to date. We may ask you to confirm your country at signup so we apply the right rights and legal terms to your account.
- One person per account. Accounts are for individuals. Don't impersonate anyone or create an account using someone else's identity.
- Security. We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and other safeguards described in our Privacy Policy. No method is perfectly secure, so you also play a part by using a strong, unique password.
5. Your content and the license you give us
5.1 You own your content
"Resume Content" means everything you enter or upload — resume text, work and education history, contact details, photos, cover letters, and interview-prep inputs. You own your Resume Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of it to us.
5.2 The license you grant us
To run the Service for you, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, revocable license to host, store, process, copy, display, and adapt your Resume Content — but only to operate and improve the Service for you. For example, this license lets us:
- save and display your resume in the editor;
- generate previews and finished PDF files;
- send your Resume Content to OpenAI and Anthropic so AI Features can score, give feedback on, or help draft it (see Section 6);
- display your resume publicly through the Public Page — but only when you choose to publish it, and only as you direct.
This license ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except for copies we are allowed to keep as described in our Privacy Policy (for example, limited backup copies that age out, and records the law requires us to retain). Because you control your content, you can withdraw the public part of this license at any time by unpublishing your Public Page.
5.3 Aggregate, de-identified analytics
You permit us to analyze aggregate, de-identified information drawn from submitted content — such as commonly listed employers and job titles — to understand usage and improve the Service. This analysis is aggregate only, is never used to make decisions about you, and is not used to train AI models. We do not single out or identify you from it. We will not use your content to train AI models without your separate, explicit opt-in consent.
5.4 Sensitive information
Resume Content can contain sensitive ("special category") information — for example, details that reveal health, ethnicity, religion, or other protected categories. We process this kind of information based on your explicit consent and your own decision to provide and, if you choose, publish it. Please share only what you're comfortable providing.
6. AI Features — advisory only, provided "as is"
- What they are. AI Features — the AI scoring, feedback, and generation features — run on OpenAI and Anthropic and analyze your Resume Content to produce scores, suggestions, and drafts that you requested.
- Advisory, not a decision about you. AI Features give you advisory feedback you asked for. They are not professional, career, hiring, recruiting, or legal advice, and they are not a decision about you, your suitability, or your prospects. A score is feedback on your document, not a judgment of you as a person.
- You are responsible for the final content. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. You decide what to keep, change, or remove, and you are responsible for the final content of your resume, cover letters, and applications. Always review AI output before you rely on it.
- "As is." AI Features are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee any particular result — for example, that a higher score, an interview, or a job offer will follow.
- How our AI providers handle your data. Our AI providers (OpenAI and Anthropic) process your content as our Sub-processors under data-processing agreements. They do not train their models on your data (commercial/API tier), and we keep retention to a minimum; we do not train our own models on your data without your separate explicit consent. See our Privacy Policy and the Sub-processors page for details.
7. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms. In short, you agree not to:
- break the law or use the Service for illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purposes;
- upload content that is illegal, infringing, deceptive (for example, a resume with knowingly false claims used to defraud), harassing, or that violates someone else's rights;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
- attempt to break, overload, probe, or get unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
- carry out unauthorized bulk extraction or database-building from the Service (for example, mass-harvesting Public Pages or scraping content at scale). This does not restrict access by well-behaved search-engine crawlers that respect robots and meta directives — Public Pages are intentionally crawlable but set to be non-indexed by default; or
- misuse AI Features (for example, to generate content that breaks the law or these Terms).
We describe the full rules, our enforcement rights, and your appeal route in the Acceptable Use Policy and in Section 11 below.
8. The Public Page
- Off by default; you choose to publish. A Public Page is a User-published public web page of your resume. It is off by default. You turn it on per resume, with a clear warning, and only when you choose to.
- It is genuinely public. When you publish, your selected resume becomes viewable on the open internet. It may be cached, copied, or accessed by anyone with the link. By default we ask search engines not to index it, but we cannot guarantee that third parties won't crawl, cache, or share a public page once it is live.
- You control what you expose. You decide which fields appear and can omit details you'd rather keep private. Share only what you're comfortable making public.
- Instant unpublish. You can unpublish at any time with one click. After you unpublish, the page stops being served promptly; we cannot remove copies others may already have made.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for the content you publish and for making sure you have the right to publish it.
9. Payments, Pass, and Subscription
9.1 Paid offerings
We offer a one-time Pass and a recurring Subscription ("Pass" / "Subscription"). Current prices and what each includes are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
9.2 Auto-renewal (Subscriptions)
- Your Subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- Before you buy, we show you the renewal price, the billing cadence (for example, monthly or yearly), and how to cancel, and we ask for your affirmative agreement. We keep a record of that agreement with a timestamp and the version of these Terms you accepted.
- Each renewal charges the then-current price for your plan using your payment method on file. If the price changes, we will tell you in advance.
9.3 Cancellation
- You can cancel any time from your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals. Logged-in users can cancel or switch plans themselves, instantly.
- When you cancel, you keep paid access until the end of the current paid period (unless a refund applies under Section 10). Renewals you cancel are not refunded (see Section 10).
9.4 Taxes and failed payments
Prices may not include taxes, which we add where required. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may pause or downgrade paid features until payment succeeds.
10. Refunds and cancellation
Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is part of these Terms. Here is a plain summary; the policy controls if there is any conflict.
- What it covers. The refund option applies to the Pass and your first Subscription period only. Renewals are cancelable any time but are non-refundable.
- When a full refund is available. You can get a full refund only if all of these are true: you ask within the 14-day refund window; you have not taken a paid download; you have used AI at most once; and you have not received a refund before (one lifetime refund per person, tracked using your email and Stripe card fingerprint; we don't collect new identity data for this).
- What uses up the offering. Your eligibility ends at a paid download (a cover letter or combined PDF, or a resume on a premium template), or using AI more than once. Empty or template downloads do not count. A plain resume PDF on a free template does not count. Copy-pasting your content does not void eligibility.
- EU/UK cooling-off. If you're in the EU/UK, you have a 14-day cooling-off right. For digital services we start immediately only after you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that your withdrawal right ends once performance begins. Your cooling-off period then ends early on a paid download or using AI more than once. If you have not consumed the Service and are still within 14 days, your refund is unconditional: the conditions above and the one-per-person limit cannot deny it.- How to request one. Submit refund requests through our contact form at /contact (topic "Request a refund"). We process approved refunds in 5–10 business days.
- At checkout. You acknowledge the refund terms at checkout; we keep a versioned, timestamped copy of the policy you accepted.
11. Suspension, warnings, bans, and content takedown
- Our rights. To keep the Service safe and lawful, we may warn, suspend, or ban an account and remove or disable content.
- Grounds. We act on grounds such as: violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; illegal or infringing content; abuse, harassment, or fraud; a security risk to the Service or other users; or a legal requirement.
- Proportionate action. Where practical, we aim to act proportionately — a warning before a suspension, and a suspension before a permanent ban — but we may act immediately when the law, safety, or the integrity of the Service requires it.
- Notice and appeal. If we suspend or ban your account or take down your content, we will give you notice where we reasonably can, and you may appeal. Banned or locked-out users receive a private reply address inside their ban or appeal notice for that purpose. We review appeals in good faith.
- Reporting. We operate reporting and moderation. We protect the identity of people who report content and do not reveal a reporter's identity to the person reported.
12. Our intellectual property
The Service itself — our software, design, templates, layouts, branding, prompts, model configurations, help content, and the look and feel — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from our Service or its components, except where the law expressly allows it.
This does not affect your ownership of your own Resume Content (Section 5). When you ask to download your data, you receive your data in a portable format — not our templates, designs, prompts, model configurations, or anyone else's data.
13. Disclaimers
- The Service and AI Features are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any result, score, interview, or job outcome will follow from using it.
- AI output may be wrong or unsuitable; you are responsible for reviewing and finalizing your content (Section 6).
- Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.---
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, or reputational harm, arising from or related to the Service.
- Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is capped at the greater of US $100 or the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, certain consumer rights or liability for fraud).---
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ResumeLove LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your Resume Content or your Public Page; (b) your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; or (c) your violation of the law or someone else's rights. We may take over the defense of any such claim, in which case you agree to cooperate. This does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own wrongdoing.---
16. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree that disputes relating to these Terms or the Service will be handled as set out in this section, and where a dispute proceeds in court, it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your home country or state.---
17. How to contact us
We use forms, not a published email address.
- Logged-in users: use the in-app "Contact us" form.
- Anyone (including off-account requests): use our public contact form at /contact. Privacy and data-rights requests use /privacy-request. Both are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile and route to a tracked queue.
- Help center: /help.
- Banned or locked-out users: use the private reply address provided inside your ban or appeal notice.
We acknowledge requests within 10 business days and respond within 30 days.---
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above, change the policy version, and let you know — for example, with an in-app notice and, where appropriate, an outbound email. Changes take effect when posted unless we say otherwise. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Service and, where eligible, cancel and request a refund under Section 10. The current version of these Terms is 1.1.
19. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Acceptable Use Policy, the Refund & Cancellation Policy, and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right, that's not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
- Survival. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example, content ownership and license terms, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) survive termination of your account or these Terms.
