Passes vs subscriptions

Premium comes in three shapes: a pass, a monthly subscription, and an annual subscription. All three include exactly the same features. What differs is how long they last, what you pay, and how refunds apply.

A pass

A one-time purchase. It doesn't renew and there's nothing to cancel — it simply runs out.

Good for a focused job hunt with an end in sight. You want the tools for a stretch of applications, and you'd rather not have a recurring charge to remember.

A subscription

Monthly or annual, renewing automatically until you cancel.

Monthly suits an open-ended search where you don't know how long you'll need it. Annual suits a longer horizon and costs less per month; you'll get a reminder email before an annual renewal so it doesn't arrive unannounced.

Cancel any time from Plan & billing in Settings. You keep Premium to the end of the period you've already paid for.

Refunds differ

This is the part worth reading before you buy.

• A pass can be refunded, if it meets the four conditions.
• A subscription's first period can be refunded on the same conditions.
• Renewals are never refundable. Canceling stops the next charge; it doesn't undo one that's happened.

So if you're on annual and don't want another year, cancel before the renewal date rather than after.

Which to pick

If you don't know how long you'll be looking, start monthly and cancel when you're done. If you know it's a short push, a pass is the simplest thing that works. Annual is worth it if you're confident the search is a long one, or you expect to be back.
