Change your email address

Update your sign-in email from Account in Settings — and what it means for receipts, refunds, and signing in.

Your sign-in email lives in Account in Settings.

How to change it

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Account — the sign-in email is the first thing there.
  3. Enter the new address and confirm.

Use an address you can actually receive mail at. It's what you'll sign in with and where anything we need to send you goes.

What changes with it

  • Signing in. Use the new address from then on. The old one stops working.
  • Password resets go to the new address.
  • Renewal reminders and account email go to the new address.

What doesn't change

  • Your resumes, cover letters, and interview sessions.
  • Your plan and your renewal date.
  • Old receipts. Those were issued by our payment provider against the address at the time. See find your receipt.

One thing worth knowing about refunds

Refund eligibility is one per person for life, and we check it partly by account email alongside the card fingerprint from our payment provider.

Changing your email is completely fine and doesn't affect an existing purchase. It just isn't a way to reset that limit — the card side is checked too. See how refunds work.

If you signed in with Google

If you use Google sign-in, that account's address is how you get in. Changing your address here doesn't change your Google account. If you're not sure which method you used, see trouble signing in.

Choosing an address

A dedicated job-hunt address is a reasonable idea if your resume or public page carries your email publicly — it keeps applications separate from the rest of your mail. See public page privacy.

Good to know

  • Also in Account: your profile photo and your legal name.
  • If you're locked out and can't get into Settings to change it, contact us from an address you can prove is yours.
  • To leave entirely rather than change addresses: delete your account.
