Using AI review

When AI review is paused or unavailable

Four things can stop a run. Two are worth retrying, two aren't — and your resume and last review are always safe.

Occasionally a run doesn't happen. There are four situations, and the message tells you which one you're in.

Paused

AI features are temporarily paused across the product. Retrying won't help — it isn't about your account or your resume, and it will come back on its own.

Everything else keeps working: the editor, your live presentation read, your templates, and your PDF export.

Not available on this account

AI review isn't enabled for your account right now. Retrying won't help. The usual reason is a plan that doesn't include it — see free and Premium. If you're on Premium and seeing this, contact us.

Too many requests

You've run reviews faster than we allow in a short window. Wait a moment and retry — this one clears by itself.

Something broke

An unexpected failure on our side. Retry — most of these are transient. If it keeps happening, tell us and mention roughly when it started.

How to tell them apart at a glance

The two you shouldn't retry use a calm neutral icon, not a red error one. That's deliberate: a red alert implies you did something wrong or that something is damaged, and neither is true. Nothing is broken and nothing needs fixing by you.

Your work is always safe

In all four cases:

  • Your resume is untouched. A failed run never modifies your content.
  • Your last completed review is still there — score, dimensions, chips, and suggestions. A failure doesn't wipe the panel.
  • A run that didn't happen isn't charged against you.

What you'll never see

We don't show raw error text from our providers. Those messages are written for engineers, they occasionally leak internal detail, and they're alarming out of context. You get a plain sentence about what happened and whether a retry is worth your time.

Still stuck?

Contact us with which of the four messages you saw and roughly when. That's usually enough for us to find it.
