When you run an AI feature
Running AI review, drafting a cover letter, or doing an interview prep session sends the content those features need — your resume content, and your target job if you've added one — to be processed, and returns a result.
That's the whole transaction. It happens when you press the button. Nothing is sent in the background while you type, and the presentation half of your score is computed without sending anything anywhere at all.
What isn't sent
- Your billing details.
- Your password.
- Other resumes. A run covers the document you're working on.
- Anything at all, if you never run an AI feature. You can build and download a resume without one.
The help assistant never sees your documents
Worth saying separately, because it's the surprising one.
The assistant in the help panel is grounded in help articles and nothing else. It cannot read your resume, your cover letter, or your interview answers. It has one line of account context — roughly what plan you're on and whether you've purchased — with no names, no email, and no document content.
If you ask it something about your specific resume, it can't answer, and it will tell you so rather than guess.
What's logged from the assistant
Your question and its answer are stored so we can see where the help center is failing people. That log holds the conversation text only — never resume, cover letter, or interview content. Unresolved conversations are kept longer so we can follow up on them; the rest are purged on a schedule.
What's kept
Your resumes, cover letters, target jobs, interview sessions and your latest review results are stored in your account, because that's the product. They stay until you delete them or delete your account.
- Export all of your data — everything, as JSON, from Settings.
- Delete your account — self-serve, with a 30-day grace period.
- Make a privacy request if you'd rather we handled it.
Sub-processors
We use third-party services to run the product — payments, email, hosting, and the AI processing itself. They're all listed on the sub-processors page, which is the authoritative list and is kept current.
What we won't do
We won't publish your resume anywhere you didn't choose. Your public page is the only surface that makes anything public, it's opt-in, it's Premium, and you can take it down. See public page privacy.
Where to go for the real answer
For anything with legal weight — retention periods, lawful bases, your rights, international transfers — read the privacy policy. If this article and that document ever disagree, that document is right and we've made a mistake here. Tell us and we'll fix it.
