Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") explains what you may and may not do when you use ResumeLove. In this AUP, "Company", "we", and "us" mean ResumeLove LLC; "you" and "User" mean the person using the Service; and "Service" means the ResumeLove website and app at https://resumelove.com.

This AUP is part of our Terms. "Resume Content" means everything you enter or upload (resume text, work and education history, contact details, photos, cover letters, and interview-prep inputs). "AI Features" means the AI scoring, feedback, and generation features. A "Public Page" is a User-published public web page of a resume. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms and Privacy Policy.

The short version: use ResumeLove to build and share your own resume. Don't use it to break the law, harm other people, misuse other people's data, attack our systems, or abuse our AI Features. We can act on violations, and you can appeal.

1. Who this applies to

This AUP applies to everyone who uses the Service — whether you are signed in, browsing a Public Page, or contacting us through a form. By using the Service, you agree to follow this AUP.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and if you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we delete it when we find it.

2. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to do any of the following, and not to help or encourage anyone else to do them.

2.1 Illegal or infringing content

• Don't post, upload, or share content that is illegal, or that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
• Don't upload content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights — including copying another person's resume, portfolio, writing, logos, or images without the right to use them.

2.2 Other people's personal data or resumes

• Only enter Resume Content that is your own, or that you have clear authorization to use.
• Don't upload, publish, or build a Public Page from another person's resume, personal data, or contact details without that person's permission.
• Don't use the Service to collect, store, or expose other people's personal information without a lawful basis and their knowledge where required.

2.3 Harassment, abuse, and hate

• Don't use the Service to harass, threaten, bully, defame, or intimidate anyone.
• Don't post content that incites violence or expresses hatred toward people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic.

2.4 Impersonation and fraud

• Don't impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your identity, employment history, credentials, or affiliation in a way intended to deceive.
• Don't use the Service for fraud, scams, phishing, money laundering, or any other deceptive financial activity.
• Don't create a Public Page or resume designed to trick others into believing you are someone you are not.

Note: writing an aspirational or imperfect resume is normal and allowed. This clause is about deliberate deception and fraud, not ordinary self-presentation.### 2.5 Spam and unsolicited messaging

• Don't use the Service, a Public Page, our forms, or our help-center AI assistant to send spam, chain messages, advertising, or other unsolicited or bulk communications.
• Don't use the Service to drive traffic to deceptive, malicious, or unrelated commercial schemes.

2.6 Unauthorized scraping and bulk extraction

Public Pages are meant to be viewed by people and found through normal search. They are intentionally crawlable-but-noindex.

• Don't carry out unauthorized bulk extraction, scraping, harvesting, or copying of Public Pages or other Service content in order to build a database, dataset, mailing list, or competing product.
• Don't use bots, scripts, or automated tools to systematically download Public Pages or other Users' content at scale.

Carve-out for search engines. This clause does not prohibit access by well-behaved search-engine crawlers that respect our robots.txt and on-page meta directives (such as noindex and nofollow). Public Pages are designed to be reachable by such crawlers. We may, however, change or restrict crawler access at any time through those same directives.

2.7 Security attacks and rate-limit evasion

• Don't probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure.
• Don't interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or its networks — including through denial-of-service attacks, flooding, or injecting malware.
• Don't evade, disable, or work around our rate limits, quotas, bot-protection (including the Cloudflare Turnstile challenges on our public forms), or other access controls.
• Don't access any account, data, or area of the Service that you are not authorized to access.

2.8 Reverse engineering

• Don't reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
• Don't attempt to discover or extract our source code, AI prompts, model configurations, templates, or other underlying technology.

2.9 Reselling and unauthorized commercial use

• Don't resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially redistribute the Service, a Pass, a Subscription, or any part of the Service without our written permission.
• Don't share, transfer, or resell account access or paid benefits to others.

2.10 Deceptive or harmful AI-generated content

The AI Features are tools to help you write and improve your own resume.

• Don't use the AI Features to generate content that is deceptive, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or otherwise prohibited by this AUP.
• Don't use AI-generated output to fabricate credentials, employers, or qualifications in order to deceive an employer or third party.
• Don't attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or misuse the AI Features or the help-center AI assistant to produce prohibited content or to extract our prompts or model configurations.

3. Reporting abuse

If you see content or behavior that violates this AUP — including on a Public Page — please tell us.

• Report it through our contact form at /contact. Every Public Page can be reported the same way.
• Tell us what you saw and where (for example, the Public Page address), so we can assess it.

You don't need an account to report something — the public form at /contact is available to anyone.

How we handle reports

• We collect only what we need to assess and act on a report. We keep report records secure and access-controlled, and only for as long as we need them for the investigation and a reasonable evidentiary period.
• We treat reporters confidentially. If you report someone, we will not disclose your identity to the User you reported. We minimize the data we keep about anonymous reporters, and where someone you reported later asks us for a copy of their data, we may redact reporter and other third-party information under the rights-of-others exemption.
• We operate moderation and trust-and-safety processes and keep limited records of them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle this data.

4. Enforcement

We may take action when we reasonably believe this AUP or our Terms have been violated, or where we are required to act.

Grounds. We may act on any of the following:

• a violation of our Terms or this AUP;
• illegal or infringing content;
• abuse, harassment, or hateful conduct;
• impersonation or fraud;
• a security risk to the Service or its Users; or
• a legal requirement or valid legal request.

What we can do. Depending on the situation, and using judgment about severity, we may:

• send you a warning;
• remove or disable specific content;
• disable a Public Page;
• suspend your account; or
• ban your account and terminate your access.

We try to match our response to the seriousness of the issue, but we can act immediately where there is a serious risk of harm, illegality, or a legal obligation to do so.

Effect on paid plans. If we suspend or terminate your account for an AUP violation, refunds (if any) are governed by our Refund Policy. Note that the value-delivery trigger there is the first document download/export or reaching the 10-AI-action limit, and that conditions in that policy may already make a purchase non-refundable.## 5. Appeals

If your account is banned or locked out, or your content or Public Page is removed or disabled, you can appeal.

• We include a private, per-notice reply address inside your ban or appeal notice so that banned or locked-out Users can reach us. That address is private to your notice and is not published anywhere in our documents or on the Service.
• Other Users who are not locked out can appeal or ask us to reconsider through the contact form at /contact.

We will review appeals in good faith. We may keep a record of the decision and the appeal.

6. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, give notice through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised AUP.
