Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated June 23, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains when you can get a refund and how cancellation works for paid offerings on ResumeLove. It applies to the Service operated by ResumeLove LLC ("Company", "we", "us") at https://resumelove.com. When you buy a Pass or a Subscription, you agree to this Policy.
In this Policy, "you" or "User" means the person using the Service; "Service" means the ResumeLove website and app; "Pass" and "Subscription" are our paid offerings; "AI Features" means the AI scoring, feedback, and generation features. These terms have the same meaning as in our Terms.
This is the single, canonical refund policy for the Service. We may keep older versions on file; the version footer at the bottom tells you which one you are reading.
1. What this Policy covers
We sell two kinds of paid offerings:
- A Pass — a one-time purchase.
- A Subscription — a recurring plan that renews automatically until you cancel.
Refund eligibility under this Policy is limited to:
- A Pass, and
- The first Subscription period only (your initial charge for a new Subscription).
Renewals are not refundable. You can cancel a Subscription at any time to stop future renewals (see Section 6), but once a renewal has been charged, that renewal period is non-refundable.
2. When you qualify for a full refund
For an eligible purchase (a Pass or a first Subscription period), you can request a full refund only if all four of the following are true:
- Within 14 days. Your request is made within 14 days of the purchase.
- Not consumed. You have not taken paid value: no paid download, and you have used AI at most once.
- Light AI use. You have used AI at most once since the purchase. A second AI action consumes the purchase.
- No prior refund. You have never received a refund from us before. Refunds are limited to one per person, for life.
If all four are true, we refund the full amount you paid for that purchase.
If any one of them is not true, the purchase is not eligible for a refund under the standard conditions above. (A separate statutory right may still apply if you are in the EU or UK — see Section 4.)
How the "one refund per person, for life" limit works
The one-lifetime-refund limit is one per person, not one per account or per card. We track whether you have used your refund using information we already have — your account email and the card fingerprint Stripe provides — so we do not need to collect any new identity information from you. Creating a new account or using a different card does not reset the limit.
3. What counts as "using" your purchase (the value-delivery trigger)
The point at which we consider you to have received the value of your purchase is a paid download (a cover letter or combined PDF, or a resume on a premium template), or using AI more than once (two or more AI actions).
In plain terms:
- A paid download voids your refund eligibility. That means a cover letter PDF, a combined PDF, or a resume PDF on a premium template.
- A plain resume PDF on a free template does not count. Empty or template downloads and copy-paste out of the editor also do not void eligibility.
- Using AI more than once also ends standard eligibility. One AI action is allowed; a second AI action consumes the purchase.
We refer to this trigger throughout our documents using the single phrase: a paid download (a cover letter or combined PDF, or a resume on a premium template), or using AI more than once.
4. If you are in the EU or UK (statutory cooling-off rights)
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. This right sits on top of — and is checked before — the conditions in Section 2.
Because our Service is a digital service we deliver to you immediately, at checkout we ask you to:
(a) give your express consent to us beginning performance right away, and (b) acknowledge that your 14-day right of withdrawal ends once performance has been fully consumed.
We define "consumed" exactly the same way everywhere: a paid download (a cover letter or combined PDF, or a resume on a premium template), or using AI more than once (two or more AI actions). Empty or template downloads and copy-paste never count. A plain resume PDF on a free template never counts.
What this means for you:
- If you are within 14 days of purchase and have NOT consumed the Service (no paid download, and AI used at most once), you are entitled to an unconditional refund. In that situation the conditions in Section 2 (including the one-refund-per-person limit) do not apply and cannot be used to deny your refund.
- Once you have consumed the Service (a paid download, or using AI more than once), the statutory withdrawal right ends, and any refund is then handled under the standard conditions in Section 2.
We always check consumption first; the conditional, value-based rules in Section 2 are applied only after the withdrawal right has ended or been waived.
5. How to request a refund
Refund requests are made through our contact form, not by email.
- Use our contact form at /contact and select the topic "Request a refund."
Please request from the account you used to buy, or include enough detail for us to find your purchase. We do not publish a support or refund email address; the contact form routes to a tracked queue so your request is logged and handled.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel a Subscription at any time, directly in your account:
- Cancel or switch your plan from your account settings while logged in.
When you cancel:
- Your Subscription stops renewing at the end of the current paid period.
- You keep access for the period you have already paid for.
- Already-charged periods, including renewals, are not refunded by cancellation (see Section 1). Cancellation stops future charges; it is separate from a refund.
A Pass is a one-time purchase and does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel — but it may still be eligible for a refund under Sections 2–4.
7. How refunds are processed
- Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method.
- Refunds are processed in 5–10 business days after approval. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the credit.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The acknowledgment you agree to at checkout, and the version footer below, are recorded with a date and version so we have a clear record of the terms in effect at the time of your purchase. The version that applied when you bought is the one that governs that purchase.
If you have questions, use our contact form at /contact.
