Create your first resume

From an empty page to a finished PDF in one sitting — pick a template, fill in your basics, preview, export.

You can go from nothing to a downloadable resume in one sitting. Here's the short path.

Step by step

  1. Go to your resumes and choose New Resume.
  2. Pick a template. Don't agonize — you can switch designs later without retyping a word.
  3. Fill in Personal Information first: name, email, phone, location, and a link if you have one worth showing.
  4. Add one Work Experience entry with two or three bullet points. One real role beats five empty ones.
  5. Add Education and Skills.
  6. Watch the preview on the right as you go. That preview is the actual document.
  7. When it looks right, download the PDF.

Your work saves automatically — there's no save button to hunt for.

What to write in those first bullets

Start each bullet with a verb, say what you did, and end with the result. A bullet that carries a number lands harder than one that doesn't.

Weak: Responsible for the onboarding process.

Better: Rebuilt new-hire onboarding, cutting time-to-first-commit from three weeks to eight days.

More on this in writing bullets that land.

Add the job you're targeting

If you already know the role you're going for, add it to the resume. It costs you a minute and it's the highest-leverage thing you can do here: it sharpens AI review's feedback and it's what your cover letter is tailored from. See adding a target job.

Good to know

  • The free plan gives you one editable resume, free templates, and a clean PDF download. No card needed.
  • Nothing you write is locked to a design. Switching templates carries all your content across.
  • If a section doesn't apply to you, leave it empty — empty sections don't print.
